STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE – Other than the central V’GER plot which was novel, this is one long, boring movie. The dialogue and acting is shockingly bad – worse than the original series was, so could it be the director to blame here? There are elements of the film that feel like it’s little […]

Tiny Furniture, Death Race 2000 (633/362)

TINY FURNITURE – As much as I want to say these nihilists are a new generation hipster thing, I think it’s been a pretty common art school thing for eons. Aura is having such a horrible time with all her first world problems. She’s finished university and has no idea what she is going to […]

MEN IN BLACK II – This is like a big commercial with a bunch of cute little jokes and cameos that just don’t matter all that much to the plot. The nice people of Locker C18 are great, but they’re really not important. The Worms are still there, but overall, they’re just another joke that […]

    Men In Black

MEN IN BLACK – Oh, that’s right. Will Smith could act at one point. This is a fantastic piece of comedic sci-fi; from the neuralizers and weapons to the diverse aliens. Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith make a good pair in this buddy cop film. Start to finish, it holds up pretty well.
