FUTUREWORLD – This sequel to WESTWORLD moves from seemingly mindless virus infestation of the resort’s mechanical creations and on to a TERMINATOR-style Skynet attack on the human race by machines. It’s a bit silly at times, but I like it despite the layers of rust that have built up on this old beast since the 70s. I fear that someone in Hollywood will try to remake this; it won’t end well.

DEATH WISH – Another classic series of films that I’ve somehow missed. I thought Bronson started out as a cop, not as an architect. In retrospect, I think I may have been confusing DEATH WISH with DIRTY HARRY; two series of films that I’ve managed to, unintentionally, avoid until now.

LETHAL WEAPON 2 – This is the film in the series where we learn the importance of paying attention to your surroundings; if you’re called in to speak to your evil, racist boss, and the room is lined with plastic sheeting? RUN. Despite the introduction of Leo Getz, I think this is my favorite of the series, though #4 has its moments.

FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL – Jason Segel’s writing is exceptional, and Russell Brand is the perfect New Boyfriend character; annoying, aggravating, but largely a decent guy.
