I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS (iTunes) – I don’t really care for much of Jim Carrey’s recent work, and less so since he outted himself as a moron with his anti-fax stance with his Ex, Jenny McCarthy. He was good in ETERNAL SUNSHINE and TRUMAN SHOW, but he all too often plays his roles like he’s the male lead on THREE’S COMPANY; exaggerated, over the top, unbelievable. This film has its issues; it’s not sure if it should set a serious or sarcastic tone, so it tries to be both at the same time. I’m just not sure that Jim Carrey portrays a man with enough charm to pull these sorts of cons off.
