POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold (Carlton) – I wasn’t sure how this one would work out; I thought it might have been more obvious, more preachy, taken some sort of ethical stand. I’m glad it didn’t really go that route, opting for a surprising subtlety. I’ve read a couple reviews where people were angry about how Spurlock violated his ethics, sold out, etc. I don’t get the offense. I found myself at certain points thinking I was watching INCEPTION with how much about the movie the movie was. I enjoyed it – it was funny, it was a bit surprising how big the movie tie-in and advertising industry is. I’d even say that the investments by the companies involved paid off – the POM people came across really well on camera.
