TRIGGER (TIFF Lightbox) – Fantastic film. The producers spoke on a casting panel a couple days prior to this saying that the original script had been written for male characters, and it took little more than character name changes and a couple gender pronouns. As a result, at times through the film, I was picturing how things would have been different with male leads.

Tracy Wright and Molly Parker were amazing. When they took to the stage to play one song, it felt like a documentary; like this really was Vic and Cat, and that there really was a band called Trigger, and I had missed them…

They snuck Sarah Polley past me in this film; her character wasn’t obnoxiously obvious, and was even well portrayed and enjoyable.
