• All kinds of crazy to pick from

This one is from a man who wrote a book on ‘Industrial Ethernet’ so he must know something about things like God. He’s also a self-proclaimed Google Adwords expert, and he has a dozen little micro sites that appear to be linked to adwords campaigns. I get some amusing religious Google ads pop up on my Chick Tract pages, and I can hardly resist clicking on them; this is how I discovered Perry Marshall.

He tries to use information theory to explain how ‘Intelligent Evolution’ is what really happened. He presents a bunch of speeches and presentations, and poses an impossible question that he called “The Atheist’s Riddle – So simple, any child can understand, yet so complex, no atheist can solve.” The riddle?

“Show me a language that doesn’t come from a mind. Just one.”

I’M SO CONFUSED! Most of my confusion on this comes from the fact that this ‘riddle’ doesn’t stump an atheist any more than it should a biblical literalist. DNA is hardly a code as he compares it to computer languages, and it’s hardly a language despite his overlapping genes onto sentence structure. He may as well overlap genes onto my shopping list for all the points he’s going to score. Marshall claims that patterns occur in nature, but that CODES are impossible, and DNA is obviously a code, because he wrote a book on Ethernet and he knows codes.

I have a question for Perry Marshall, and I’ll call it “The Marshall Riddle – so simple any child can understand, yet so complex that no cdesign propentist can solve.” It’s a simple question; “How many fingers am I holding up?” It means nothing more, nor nothing less than the empty riddle posed to Atheists.

Marshall also puts words into Einstein’s mouth regarding his ‘biggest blunder’, implying that Einstein really thought that God was behind everything. Einstein was referring to the cosmological constant and that Einstein had once thought the universe to be a static thing prior to Hubble’s discovery of galaxies flying away from us. Perhaps Perry isn’t aware of Einstein’s feelings on religion.

Marshall claims to have taken on 30+ skeptics and ‘won’ at Infidels, which he states is “the world’s largest atheist discussion board” — http://cosmicfingerprints.com/iidb.htm. However, that’s not nearly as entertaining as his posts to a UFO and Conspiracy message board to try to win over the Tinfoil Hat Brigade.

    Dude’s crazy.

Check out the site for Perry Marshall Speaks ( http://www.perrymarshallspeaks.com – I’m not linking to that site; he doesn’t need any more ‘Google juice’ ); there are links to his other micro-sites at the bottom of the page, and there’s a bunch of audio and video there; more than I care to listen to.
