It seems that Atheism today has become something persued not becasue of its truth, but becasue of what is comfortable and acceptable to people to “fit in.”

      These are dark times.

Atheism isn’t something that can be assessed for “truth” in the way you would define the word, Brother Burnett.

The darkest of times are the times in which mankind has lived under the thumb of religious doctrines excusing oppression, war, hatred and so much more.

How is it that those choosing to be free from this sort of indoctrinated pattern of belief, choosing to think for themselves, can possibly represent a dark time? Being told what to think and believe is darkness at its worst.

Ah, but don’t you ever look up into the great beyond on a beutiful night and think How alone are we? There must be Someone out there to help us….

Someone to help us? Help us when? I’m not really seeing the helping much…look at what is going on in the world..where is the help? And you think Atheism is “comfortable and acceptable to people to “fit in.””
You would not belive the crap I get when I say I’m Atheist. There is no way it is acceptable or fitting in with most people.

Theism is a business of cunning people so they have vested interests in its preaching and propagation for corrupting human minds, while atheism is no body’s business. It is naturally available to all forms of life.

Brother Burnett: atheists are one of the most persecuted minorities there are. why would anyone choose to do that to “fit in”? 80% of the U.S. is some denomination of christian. if anyone is trying to “fit in”, it’s you.

There just isn’t any proof. The burden of proof lies with the religious people who simply claim the supernatural to be true. (This freaks me out….belief in talking animals…evil creators, winged humans…imaginary friends in the sky.) The only thing anyone really has are facts…things that we can observe, test, experiment with. If a scientist were to say black holes, or something like physics just exists because I feel it to be true no one would buy that. The science community (which has given us everything …..medicine, watches, electricity, phones, tv, internet, etc…….) provides everything we need to know something to be true. Sadly religious people are living deluded lives, but as my mom any many others say “Why can’t we all just believe what we want to believe?”, well simply put…because you don’t want to believe something that is not true. Atheism rocks and reality is awesome! At the end of the day it’s all we have. Imagine no religion…..just imagine! :)

what do u mean there isn’t evidence?? look around you. there is evidence all around you! do you really think we all are just freak mistakes, that a big explossion of two nonliving particles made a living thing? just to let you know science proves that thery wrong ‘nothing dead can make somthing living’

@alal You’re confusing spontaneous generation of complex creatures with the theory that amino acids formed spontaneously, which eventually lead to single celled life and then to modern creatures.

Either show me where “Science says” what you claim, or get another argument from your apologetics teacher.

“You of little faith…” Matthew 8:26 Nietzshe tried to explain the world and the Universe without God- he went insane, but for the blind ignorance is simple bliss, but for the educated truth cannot be ignored.

Really? Did you try to use Wiki as a source, a source to combat the origin of mankind none the less?! Wiki is a gradeschool mockery of true sitation and knowledge. If you want to even be glazed over as potentially professional, do NOT use Wiki- ever.

When a person suffers from delusion,it is called madness but when many people suffer from delusion it is called religion. Until the world stops believing in psychotic old men living in the clouds, creating sin and killing himself to wipe away the same sin,the extremism we see around will never stop. Its time to think and act rationally.
