• I, for one, welcome the new etsy overlords

Earlier today, I applied for a Systems Administrator job at Etsy, and I didn’t bother removing the standard link in my signature to this wordpress site. I figure a company like Etsy is hip enough to deal with all the questionable content around here. A moderately skilled 11 year old could find this page with little effort, so why not just let prospective employers know right off the top?

The job they have listed sounds like a good match, even if I’m a bit on the senior end than a mid-level sysadmin; especially if remote work is an option. I have a feeling that it’s supposed to be a job based out of their New York with a commute to their New Jersey server hosting location.

Here’s hoping that a nice telecommute gig with a regular flight to northern New Jersey is a possibility. Be nice to work as a pure Sysadmin again, without having to sully my reputation and skills by rebooting those dozen Windows boxes we have around here for the Sybase systems.  I’d have to get a better chair if I plan to ever work out of a home office again, though.
