• Another contest I won’t win

I found an interesting draw with odds that are better than your average pick-six lottery, I’m sure. Some might think that I’ve likely used up my “luck” with the winning of the Pepsi and Telus contests in the past couple years, but seeing as I don’t believe in luck, I decided to enter.

The prize? Being shot into space to the tune of US$80,000.

Do I want to be shot into space? Not particularly. While I think that a sub-orbital flight is nifty and all, it’s a pretty short ride. Pulling zero Gs is neat and all, but I’ve had a couple minutes of zero G and pulled a couple G as well courtesy of the Canadian Force. I’m just not really that interested in it; oh look, my arm is floating… wow… okay, now what?

I checked the rules, and there is an option to take the cash value.  Sign me up for some of THAT.

So yeah, here’s hoping in early 2008 someone wants to sub-orbit me so that I can say “No.”

Oh, and in case you’re interested in the flight?  See www.hitcharidetoouterspace.ca for details.
