The CBC, producing content that sounds good on paper, by name-brand writers, and then opting just to throw it out. So, instead of some interesting sounding sci-fi, our next best 300 hours of prime Air Farce style political satire instead, or maybe another Rick Mercer show, or maybe something about Anne of Green Gables?

“Somewhat to my astonishment I’ve learned that The Adventures of Apocalypse Al, the twenty part series of five minute radio plays we produced last year (written by none other than J. Michael Straczynski of Babylon 5 fame), will NOT be aired nationally anywhere on CBC Radio. It is possible that it will be picked up regionally here and there, but I will have no way of knowing when and where.” — Joe Mahoney, CBC

They can’t podcast it because of licensing, apparently. Well, throw a bit of good money after the bad and do something to secure the license, damn it. What else has been canceled at this PUBLIC broadcaster that we never hear of, and how much bullshit Maritime programming has been shoveled in in its place?
