I setup a smart playlist on my iPod the other day to collect all the Vancouver and Victoria related music I have so that I can listen to a random selection of SNFU, Modernettes, DOA, and other Vancouver bands when the mood strikes me. I was listening to some crappy Fat Joe Satan recordings that I recorded one night at The Cobalt, and I thought about setting up a “Vancouver Song of The Day” link on here.

Quite a while ago I setup this place in iTunes’ podcast directory (search for ‘bankrupt artist’ in iTunes, or just subscribe to http://foo.ca/wp/rss). A couple times each week, I’ll be posting an MP3 of some sort…

Today I was going to post the song “Fuck Me And You Won’t Go Back To Humans” by Fat Joe Satan, but I learned of the death of Jay Brown of Alcoholic White Trash. The band took a bit of time off in order to allow “Cancerboy Jay” time to rest and attend his chemo treatments. Nobody really expected chemo to cure him, but they were hoping to buy some time. I’d link to his MySpace blog where twelve days ago he wrote of being hopeful and feeling good, but nothing is as tacky as a LiveJournal or MySpace memorial
