I originally posted this at Beyond Robson but the show has been seriously under-promoted, so I’m posting it in a couple additional places.

Pat MacDonald, known to children of the 80s best as half of one-hit-wonder Timbuk 3, is coming to town. The band that he and his now ex-wife Barbara formed is long gone, and the music style has moved on. Experimental blues, angst-ridden singer-songwriter, stompy country folk music. He’ll be playing the “Guinness Stage” at The Limerick Junction on Carrall Street in Gastown; wait, there’s only the one stage…

Vancouver acoustic blues musician John Pippus and flautist Natasha Jay will be teaming up to open the night. Aug 15 2006 at 9:00 pm with a $6 cover.

Future’s So Bright video on YouTube… 80s video quality is worse than I remember. Headbands and 8 bit graphics, oh my! In a rather Thomas Dolby fashion, Pat now refers to this track as “That Song” and plays it only rarely.

CD Baby has his 2004 album available, with nice long 2 minute samples of each track.
