Give me your money

I’m walking away from one of my contracts at the end of this month. It’s not something that I really want to do, as I was pretty comfortable there for the three days of the week that I put in there. The problem was that I was only there three days a week, and maybe that I was getting too comfortable… I couldn’t really find something fulltime, or work other contracts, etc, due to the need to be here.
On the one hand, it’s just in time for the Vancouver International Film Festival, and my two-day-per-week contract will provide much more time for movies than my 3-day-per-week job could. It’s all about looking on the bright side; I’m sure Tania will have a slightly different view on things, but considering the hourly rate differences between the 2-day and the 3-day contracts, I’d keep the 2-day; it pays just as well in 33% less time. Besides, the government contract has been sounding like they want more of my time to increase my responsibilities (and make me less bored), but I’ve been holding back out of some sense of misguided loyalty to 3-day contract.
So, I’m going to go check out a media screening of “Memory: For Max, Claire, Ida, and Company” for the VIFF this afternoon, I’m going to go see a set of girl-fronted punk rock tonight at the Astoria Hotel (The Draft, Jaded Jinas and others), and another media screening tomorrow of Fellini’s The Voice of the Moon (La voce della luna).
So, today I’m just letting people know that around October 15th (after the film festival) I’ll be looking to have paying contracts waiting for me; getting in touch with old clients, etc, and telling them that they need to give me money in exchange for things like setup of bl0gs and such.
