Oh Negativland — you crazy kids!

I was looking at their No Business release and trying to decide if it was worth the $20 they are asking; I mean, it DOES come with a rubber novelty toy.
You may have heard of Negativland’s banned single “U2″ through Illegal Art or any of the numerous stories of being sued by Disney or U2. Their store page for buying copies of their work lists even the ones that they aren’t able to sell, with two notable examples stating; “We do not, will not and cannot carry this EP release because it’s on SST. Please note the “download” link below…”
Also, check out the super-restrictive method they have for people to contribute to their radio show (downloadable in RealAudio, though KPFA streams MP3 (and OGG?) if you’re listening live);
Negativland’s weekly radio show, “Over The Edge,” airs for 3 hours on KPFA, Berkeley, California from 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM Pacific Time on Thursday nights (Friday mornings), EXCEPT the first Thursday of each month when it is not on. When there are 5 Thursdays in a month, the 5th Thursday is a 5 hour show.
Call 510-848-4425 in the U.S.A to deposit your programming into our mix. When your phone stops ringing, you’re on the air. Don’t say “hello”.
The KPFA website does archive the OTE streams for one week only, which you can snag. This week there’s a lot of chatter at the opening of the show from announcers that sound like stereotypical NPR announcers with their smooth-jazz voices, so you might want to just fast forward in about 5 minutes for the real show.
