On the way home from the office tonight, I saw a guy get on the us with a shiney shiney yellow t-shirt…

I thought it was a joke initially; it read “SCIENTOLOGY ™ VOLUNTEER MINISTER” in 2 inch high bold letters.

The thing that really gave away the non-jokeness of the shirt was the little ™. He was carrying a big stack of about 8 DVDs that he was on his way to take back to BlockBuster, and I wonder how many copies of Battlefield Earth or other Church owned properties each ‘volunteer’ minister is supposed to rent each week to keep them on whatever top ten list they care about. The rumours about the sales of Dianetics centered on members buying up the books by the trunk load to get it on sales lists.

Regardless, I like to think that minister kid on the bus had 8 copies of Battlefield Earth and had to watch them all. That would make the world just a little bit better.
