Album that I’d like to find…

“Poke out your eye with a microwave french fry”
Lyrics were something along the lines of “Take out some french fries, put them in the microwave, turn it on high, when it’s done, take it out, poke out your eye.” All twenty something seconds of Texas metal.
There’s other stuff on the album that I’d like, but I can’t recall what the name of the album was, or anything other than it had a bright red cover. Not much to go on, and Google doesn’t really tell me anything much. There’s two results for that search. One is a MySpace site for some guy in the Texas death metal scene, so maybe, just MAYBE they’ll know what I’m talking about… http://www.myspace.com/remusproductions
I’ve been looking off-and-on for an old CD that I lost about a decade ago from an Edmonton punk band that broke up to spin off a country band or two of all things; welcome to Alberta! The band was ‘the smalls’ and the album “To Each A Zone.” Finally found a copy at an A&B in Burnaby, alongside their other two albums that I don’t really care about… I’ve also snagged a couple old punk 7″ records from the Dead Kennedys and others, and am now in the mood to find a turntable again.
It’s mid-life-crisis-music time, I guess.

The album you are looking for is called "Horsecore: An Unrelated Story That’s Time Consuming" by the legendary Houston band Dead Horse. It was re-released by Relapse Records a couple years back with bonus stuff. Likewise, their follow-up to that album "Peaceful Death and Pretty Flowers" is GREAT. It was also re-released at the same time the first album was. You should be able to find both on Tower Records’ website.
FYI…Dead Horse has long since broken up but the founding member (and pricipal song writer…AND artist who did all their album artwork) Michael Haaga has a new band called The Plus and Minus Show. It’s totally different from the dead horse music…but it’s GREAT stuff. Check out http://www.michaelhaaga.com
Hope you get your hands on the music…it’s great stuff.
An A&B in Burnaby… LOL.
There’s only one, the one by Metrotown.
Other than that you’re talking Vancouver and Surrey, boy. You the boy.
An A&B in Burnaby… LOL.
Well, at one time there were two; one up on Hastings…
Hey dude.
You are looking for the almighty album “peaceful death and pretty flowers”. If you get your hand on this album, consider yourself lucky.
Yo yo yo, word to ded horse, the funniest part about that song is that it is immediately followed by itself chopped and screwed, which was another artist stealing music bucks from the h town kiddies at the same time dj screw, and they were mocking that corny crud , yay unnecessary useless info
