Shaw service at its best.

I have a Shaw “SOHO” account that includes a “business” cable modem connection with 50GB of transfer, includes cable TV, and includes really shitty service.
I just called in to have some channels removed from my lineup, and I’m told by Wayne the customer service person that he can’t do anything for me, and that only the business customer service people can perform this operation, and they are currently closed.
Fine, I pay more and I get less; that makes perfect sense. I want to change my cable lineup now, at 5:10pm, not tomorrow morning at 9:00am. I go to the Business Services website and click on the link for “Contact Us” to be taken to a page with this text on it:
Complete 24-hour Customer Care.
Service is always available from Shaw. If you ever need assistance with any of our products or services, we’re here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 day a year.
Contact Us to purchase Shaw products and services or talk to a Customer Service Representative.
Shaw Authorized Retail Centres provide one-stop-shopping for all your entertainment needs.
What does 24 hours a day mean in Shaw Land if I pay them more money? It means I get 8 hours per day of service. I can almost accept that for the internet stuff, but for the television stuff? Come on, that’s nothing special that the normal drones can’t handle.
| Shaw SOHO Package: w/ basic cable | $64.95 | 50 GB/month |
| Home cable internet w/ basic cable | $56.95 | 20 GB/month |
| Home cable internet w/ “XTREME” and basic cable | $66.95 | 50GB/month |
I had to call them again to find out what the bandwidth on the home accounts is, since it’s NOWHERE on the web site that I can find. They go on and on about the number of email accounts and how the account is 100 times faster than dial up, but they don’t nail down a raw transfer limit? Apparently so.
So, I pay $64.95 per month and I have much more limited access to my account than a “home” user who pays roughly the same and gets 24 hour access to modify their account.
