    Remember my post about Purolator and why I don’t ship with them? In this day and age, the sort of browser compatibility checking that they were doing was barbaric; they may as well have been using blink tags and put in that animated GIF of the dog running back and forth on the login page.

    Of course, their site was completely functional when I forced Firefox to lie and claim to be IE 6; worked like a charm. At least that’s the case if working like a charm is displaying really bad looking drop down menus for all the major functions. Since my wasn’t expected to deal well with really ugly menus, apparently on a taste and style issues alone, I was barred from entering.

    Well no more, says Marc-Andre Vien from the Customer Automation at Purolator Courier Ltd.;

    Hello Richard,

    I am pleased to write you to announce that Purolator has begun to support
    Mozilla/Netscape browsers as well as Mac based browsers such as Safari. I
    hope that this exciting change will help make Online Shipping an even more
    enjoyable experience for you.

    If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me
    directly at 1-800-459-xxxx EXT. xxx.

    I’d check into it if I didn’t already have the UPS system figured out already; with the UPS one I can save and re-use documents, which is kind of nice. Of course the web site issue isn’t the only reason that I don’t tend to ship with Purolator; there is also that issue where the Purolator guys would ensure that they dropped every box I shipped with them that wasn’t insured.
