    Interesting… Om Malik is reporting something interesting about SixApart’s plans. This is the company that provides MovableType to a world of bloggers, and runs their own TypePad hosted blogging service. The story is that they’re plotting to purchase about 4 million teenage girls for an undisclosed amount;

    Six Apart, the parent company behind hosted blogging service TypePad, and Moveable Type is about to acquire Live Journal, for an undisclosed amount.

    I’m mostly curious if Om is conducting a social experiment to see just how many people pick this story up on their Live Journals… “OMFG!1 I just like got a payd acount and now they sell me 2 sum sixpart place! this SUX0RS!” I didn’t see anything obvious on the LJ news or business communities, so I’m curious about the source of the information Om claims to have recieved exclusively…

    Update: looks like the Community is going strong with the rumor now, about 12 hours later, and the style of complaint is pretty much as I expected; “OMG IS ELLJAY BEING SOLD PLZ TO TELL ME NOW NOW NOW” “HAY I HEARD THAT SIX APART WAS BUYING LIVEJOURNAL CONFIRM/DENY” “DO YOU LIKE ME (YES NO CIRCLE ONE!)” “AOL-Time-Warner-LiveJournal-Slashdot.” “Selling 2 “The Man”… – Save Us!!!”> — Okay, that third one was my invention, but the others are there, and the CAPS have been left as they were posted by their authors.
