Broke down and did it today.

I bought new Docs. My well-worn set of black docs is going to sit idle for a while until I get around to cementing them back together. May or may not happen. Might just turn them into studio boots.

I think I know why I was putting off buying new boots. Damn, but they hurt the feet for the first week. Ow.

Also noticed just how far down the tread had worn on the old set. Half an inch of rubber missing from the bottoms give or take.

Purchased wood for 6 big painting stretchers. I still can’t believe that Home Depot has the nerve to call the crap they stock for 2×2 spruce “Premium”… premium if you enjoy stretchers in odd shapes that would make paintings look like they were stretched over bumpy twigs and hockey sticks.

5 of the 6 stretchers are together now, and I’m thinking that my next weekend will involve visiting the local canvas merchant and stretching canvas. Thinking of having 10 blank canvases put together and I’ll be able to start working on the big piece for that show proposal.

Been busy populating the artist info database too. A good half dozen good links a day so far. I’m sure it’ll taper off… though so far it’s mostly residencies as that’s what I’m hunting for myself.
