Okay, so I could have had them yesterday, but I was otherwise engaged… swearing at someone’s stubborn computer.
I’m afraid of these slides. They’re good. They’re all good. There is one that has an odd shadow on it, which bugs me, but the shadow COULD be part of the piece. It’s possible.
So, I have a sheet of 20 slides (call for proposals says 15-20)… some of them require cropping, but not many. I’ve got a mix of large shots and detail shots, and I think the package looks damn good.
Of course, I DID forget to measure the pieces before I left the studio, which means I have to go back there. Maybe I’ll get a chance tomorrow before work… assuming I start late. Suppose I should check on that…. yep, 10:00am. Enough time to measure so I can make and print a slide list while at work tomorrow. Finalize the proposal and get my courier to drop the package off Sunday, a full DAY before cut-off. None of this last-minute bullshit for ME.
Among other items, I attended a little planning meeting for a followup show that the Vancouver Eastside Culture Crawl is doing in conjunction with a music organisation (?) called Homegrown. Big Commercial Drive thing… should be cool… plenty of art, plenty of music, an interesting weekend by the sounds of it.
Any promotional experience is a good one in my opinion. More eyes on my stuff means more chances of living the life of a rich, sought-after artiste to the elite of society. Well, I’d settle for paying rent AND being able to eat based on art income…
